I know it's often said of double albums that there's always a better single album in there trying to get out, but I honestly can't think of a single track I'd leave off this one... The Kiss kicks the whole thing off, and the sound is just amazing... like a million strangled wah wahs, just building and building... then Catch, the essence of summer caught up in tune form...Torture is just a personal favourite that I can't really explain, and If Only Tonight We Could Sleep is simply divine... and the first 4 songs have whizzed by just tlike that! Without giving a track by track breakdown other personal highlights are How Beautiful You Are (think it's my favourite Robert lyric of them all), Snakepit (it's that sticky, languid feeling that it has), Like Coc.katoos for the whole feel of it, and Shiver and Shake and Icing Sugar for superb drumming. The only gripe I've got is that remembering when I had it on tape, I still miss Hey You!!! coming on after Snakepit...
oh, and maybe The Perfect Girl could've made way for A Chain Of Flowers...

listening to this album from start to finish, in one take, with no skipping, is an amazing experince. you need every song, in this order. the variety of dark, light, heavy, soothing, messed up, happy etc is great. by the time to get just like heaven, you've been through so many emotions, it's an actual relief, and gives you just enough energy to get through the rest of the album. um, jlh, like co.ckatoos, the kiss, fight, icing sugar, snakepit stand out in my mind, but really, they are all great. one thousand hours as well. the b-sides are simply divine.

After Wish, this was the first album that I really latched onto. It's a wonderful mix of pop and darker tracks, and everything else inbetween. And, it came out the year I was born, so that makes it extra cool, of course. And, since it is a double album, it's nice and loooong... verses, like, everything before it.
Not to mention it has some wooonderful dance tracks and videos...
And slowly but surely, I shall learn all of the basslines and play along... interactive music, hehe. So far I have Catch, Why Can't I Be You?, Just Like Heaven, Hot Hot Hot!!!... okay, so not too many, but we're getting there. I really want to learn The Kiss. It's pretty simple sounding, but I just want to be able to pound it out.

This was one of the first I listened to, it was either this or Japanese Whispers. A girl I had the hots for lent it to me so for ages I only had a tape of it. The Kiss really made me sit up and listen, so very different to Lovecats, which I knew. I think I had bought Japanese Whispers by this stage actually so it was quite a departure. It reminds me of a very good summer between leaving school and starting college.

I was listening to this the other day, and as much as I love 'The Cure' from last year, this is just the band being naturally diverse, with every song somehow working together while also being totally different... I love it!

I've always thought that too abot KMKMKM. All the songs are so very different, but it's so well thought out. One of my favorites.

Heh, I have a lot of Cure on vinyl for someone who doesn't have a record player...
We have some good stuff in our basement... Led Zeppelin and Iron Butterfly, to name two.
And as for loving this forum... don't even get me started on how wonderful this place is. There's no angry people trying to shove opinions down each other's throats, constantly battling....

If you think that one's bad, try the MFC board. I don't understand why people are so angry...
A small example: Someone said something about Robert being an alcoholic, and a bunch of people got reallllly offended... like it was an unfair insult to his character... it was odder than anything I've ever seen.
