If you want to read a vampire chronicle that can stand indepentaly on it's own without having to read all the other vampire chronicles first then I suggest Vittorio the Vampire because it doesn't have anything to do with the other vampires. It's a really good read.
I love Armand, can't help it. I love the broody types. Armand was stolen from his home as a child, lost Marius when he was a fledgling vampire and ever since then he's been looking for the family he lost so long ago. He is the eternial lost child and the embodiment of the old saying "you can't go home again."

yes, i love him too. i just want to hug him and make him feel happy and secure.
i'd suggest reading the first set of vamp chronicles in order, but you have to read queen of the da.mned for sure.

Only problem with the vamp cronicles is that you have to commit so much time to reading them all, but it is time well spent!

Some of Anne's books that don't envolve vampires are: Feast of All Saints (have it, haven't read yet) Cry to Heaven (have it, haven't read yet) The Mummy (have it, read it, loved it) Servant of the Bones (have it, read it, loved it) Violin (have it, read it, didn't think I was going to like it at first but it surprized me) Exit to Eden (don't have it) Belinda (don't have it) and of course her Sleeping Beauty series (These are erotica and not meant for school book reports! ) The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty Beauty's Punishment Beauty's Release ...And no I haven read them yet so don't even ask!

bloody the best thing to do in my humble opinion is the start with interview with the vampire and work your way through the first three chronicles then you have enough back ground to get everything...though vittorio is a accessible read....i like it.

When Anne first wrote the series she used a pen name cause she didn't want her catholic father to know about them. She didn't have them published under her name until he died. (Does that answer your question Dandy? )
