EastEnders set for American version It may have suffered a rollercoaster ride in the UK recently, but that doesn't seem to have put off American TV bosses who are looking into producing a US version of EastEnders.
Fox Broadcasting has ordered six scripts for the project, which will be spearheaded by Pop Idol's Simon Fuller and EastEnder's head writer and story consultant Tony Jordan.
The US version looks set to revolve around the lives of blue-collar families in Chicago.
